Hurricane Camping & Parking

With such large numbers of people attending Takeover events, day-use parking and overnight camping can be very convenient but in limited supply. We recommend arriving early for a parking spot and/or camping on the beach in our VIP spots or POD spots. Both allow for great access to the lake, the events, and thousands of acres of epic riding in the sand hollow state park. All camp spots sell out quickly so reserve as early as possible! Please note that ALL on-site campgrounds/spots are dry-camping and there are no dedicated potable/blackwater systems available on-site. However, we do have a dumping service that would be happy to dump your trailer as needed during the event for a small fee.

Day-Use Parking

As the Takeover event utilizes the primary Sand Hollow concrete parking lot, there are limited day-use parking spots available throughout the state park at the beachfront, rental store, boat launch, etc. Day-use hours are from 8:00 AM to 10:00 PM.

On-Site Camping

If you are looking to be right in the middle of the action then On-Site Camping is for you. With three different areas and over 500 sites, we feel confident that we have something to fit your needs. All these sites have trail access and all have direct access to the events and activities. Prices range from $150 to $250 and include 5 days and 4 nights. These spots sell out fast each year so make sure to get in early. All these sites are managed by Takeover and must be reserved through our website.

Off-Site Camping

If being right in the middle of the action is not your thing and you prefer a more toned-down camping experience at the largest UTV event in the country then Off-Site Camping may be right for you. We recommend these awesome campgrounds in the nearby area. They all offer direct trail access and direct access to the events via the state park main gate. Unlike On-Site Camping these sites are not managed by Takeover and must be reserved directly with each campground.
